Widebody is complete!

After 5 weeks the car is now looking like a car again.

This pic is with a 25mm spacer. So effectively 18x10 -13. probably poking a bit far to clear the guard.

At its new temporary home. This is with 18x10 +12 with a 8mm spacer. So effectively  +6

Nismo Z Tune 001 - I couldn't believe my eyes

When I first saw it I thought it was just a ricer with no originality... Turns out to be a real Z tune. Not only that its No. 001!!!

More progress on widebody

Been a few delays with other jobs but its not far away now. Should be picking the car up before the weekend.

Blending into the a pillar looks top notch.

Still a bit of work to do sanding in the fuel filler cap.

Roll cage investigations

Researched cages

After reading a lot and talking to a number of cage builders i've decided on a design. It is much more costly than i'd anticipated and is unfortunately a compromise so the cage can be engineered for the street.

For those that understand cages it is a CDI weld in cage. Main hoop with single cross bar, X in the stays to the rear strut towers, bar between the struts. Front will be pretty special but i'll wait until its done to share that.

Next steps

Tear the engine out. Will hopefully have pictures of the widebody very shortly.

New rolling stock!

Source rims

Obviously my work emotion Kai's and Enkei RPF1's will no longer fit so it was time to source some larger ones. Found these QF's in QLD and had to have them so had them couriered down. The had RE55's on them in 285 on the rear and 265 on the front.

The rims are 18x10 +12. They are ridiculously light. I was amazed they were only fractionally heavier than my RPF1's in 17x9 +20.

Figured we should really try them on a car to see what they looked like. So Matt (boxhead) donated his car and offered to try them out. Unfortunately we could drive with them on as they don't have recesses for the spacers that were fitted. Look pretty good on the s14. These are with 15mm spacers.
